Transparency International-Russia in exile (TIR in exile) is a group of independent international experts which continues the work of a closed Russian non-profit organisation Transparency International-Russia.
The 6 of March, 2023, Transparency International movement was recognised as an “undesirable organisation” within Russian territory. Transparency International-Russia had been a separate national non-profit legal entity registered in accordance with Russian law and could not be recognised as “undesirable”.
The decision adopted by the General Prosecutor’s office and practice of “undesirable” laws implementation made the work of Transparency International-Russia impossible. Therefore, the Council of Transparency International-Russia decided to liquidate the Russian legal entity in March, 2023. The Federal Revenue Service made the relevant entry in the Register on 18 of September, 2023.
The experts experienced and acquired broad knowledge over the years adhered to the Mission – to counteract corruption and uphold the principles of transparency, accountability, integrity and honesty. The experts group continues the work from abroad established Transparency International-Russia in exile.
Transparency International-Russia in exile remains part of the Transparency International, an international movement founded in 1993. The movement brings together more than 100 independent organisations around the world.
Transparency International Russia in exile continues to move forward the goal of countering corruption in Russia and decreasing the tolerance for corruption among Russian citizens. Corruption is the abuse of entrusted power for personal gain.
The experts of Transparency International Russia in exile express their strong condemnation of current militarisation and infringement of human rights in Russia. The experts believe that the war conflicts are unacceptable as well as increasing military and political tensions around the world.
