This war is a crime for which those responsible must be held accountable. It is a gross violation of international law, human rights, and the foundations of global order. Every day of war brings new victims, new atrocities, and new destruction.
But this war is not just about missiles and tanks. It is about corruption—corruption that has strengthened the regime for decades, dismantled independent institutions, and drained the country, preparing it for aggression. It is corruption that created a system where impunity prevails and war becomes a tool to maintain power.
The consequences of this policy are felt within Russia as well. Since February 2022, the number of registered bribery cases in Russia has increased by 55% compared to pre-war 2021. Additionally, in 2024, Russia increased its defense spending by a quarter—reaching $150 billion, a significant share of the state budget. Instead of being invested in healthcare, education, and infrastructure, these funds are funneled into prolonging a criminal war, deepening the country’s economic and social crises.
Meanwhile, Ukraine continues to fight for freedom and independence. These three years have been a time of unwavering resistance, incredible resilience, and the fight for the future. The world cannot afford fatigue or indifference—impunity breeds new crimes, and the lessons of the past must not be forgotten.
These three years are a reminder that war can never be justified. The world must do everything in its power to bring it to an end and hold those responsible to account. Only justice can lead to a true and lasting peace.
